After reading this article I think it is really interesting to see how far digital art has come. I think the fact that internet art was free from traditional art institutions played a huge role in the development of digital art and even just art in general. The internet provided a place where anyone could create and share art and that definitely holds true to this day. People were able to more freely express themselves through digital art and in the 90’s, the Internet was so new that people could turn it into anything they wanted. No one really had a lot of experience with internet art so it was a good starting point for incorporating art into online communities. I’m really interested to see what will happen with digital art in the future because I think technology will help the medium continue to grow. The possibilities of art are pretty much limitless and the internet provides a really great way for average people to create and share art with one another. People can even create their own careers based off of their digital art and share their work on platforms such as Youtube, Deviant Art, Instagram and much more. People also have more access to artistic skills because it is really easy to look up tutorials on how to paint or draw. Even though the internet isn’t perfect by any means, I do think it has the potential for a lot of positivity and creativity and you just have to know where to look for it.
